At the official prize-giving ceremony at the Yacht Club de Monaco in Monte Carlo, the Esimit Sailing Team received the prize for the victory in the Palermo – Monte Carlo regatta. Esimit Europa 2 took line honours at the 500-nautical-mile long course and  and was therefore awarded with the Giuseppe Tasca d’Almerita trophy. The European crew finished the course in 62 hours and 47 minutes.
