Esimit Europa 2 Carries the Winning Streak into its Fourth Season at Kieler Woche

First ever performance outside the Mediterranean was a success for the Esimit Sailing Team as they set a new monohull course record and took the overall win in front of thousands of spectators at world renown sailing festival in Germany – Kieler Woche.

Competing at two races within Kieler Woche – Welcome Race from Kiel to Eckernförde on 22nd June and its return race on the following day – Esimit Europa 2 once again proved to be Europe’s fastest sailing yacht.

Sports action has been accompanied by meeting and sailing with children with disabilities from the Stiftung Drachensee institution who thoroughly enjoyed the experience. While at press conference after the races there was a meeting with yacht’s main sponsor GAZPROM, and a partnership agreement was signed with adidas Sailing.

In occasion of Kieler Woche, the Esimit Sailing Team also met with Olaf Thon, former FC Schalke 04 captain and member of the 1990 FIFA World Cup winning West German squad. By exchanging official T-shirt and flag, Jochen Schümann and Olaf Thon expressed mutual support between two successful sports teams.

Now the team is already getting ready for the ÅF Offshore race in Sweden following this upcoming weekend.
